Road work July 6 2018 and week of July 9-13 2018
Road Work Continues: Friday July 6 2018: Due to the rain this week, we will be oiling on Deer Ridge Drive and Daniel Drive from Deer Ridge Drive to the 300 Block Daniel Drive. Please have your vehicles and personal property back at least 3 feet from the roadway and reduce your speed.
Monday July 9- 13 2018: Oiling will continue MONDAY: North Shore Estates and continue on Daniel Drive to the 300 block if not completed on Friday. TUESDAY to THURSDAY: Brent Drive, Alice Cres. and Grace Cres. Please have your vehicles and personal property back at least 3 feet from the roadway and reduce your speed.
SUMMER DAY CAMP SUCCESS
A shout out to all the volunteers and coordinators of the kids camp. Looks like the kids had a great time and created memories that will be talked about for years to come. (click on the picture below for a gallery of our 3 day camp)
Road Work starting Tuesday July 3 2018
Road Construction starting Tuesday July 3 2018 to Friday July 6 2018: Oiling will start at the causeway (Hwy 2) into the village including Deer Ridge Dr. and continue into the Village, followed by the crescents.
• PLEASE MAKE SURE VEHICLES AND PERSONAL PROPERTY IS MOVED BACK AT LEAST 3 FEET FROM THE ROAD ALLOWANCE.
• REDUCE YOUR SPEED AND DRIVE WITH CAUTION WHEN APPROACHING OUR VILLAGE WORKERS.
• PLEASE AVOID WATERING THE VILLAGE ROAD WITH SPRINKLERS DURING THE WEEK OF OILING (BEFORE AND AFTER OILING)

Day Camp: There is still spaces available July 3-5 2018 10am-1pm
The North Grove Summer Day Camp is an opportunity for children ages 5 years old and up within the North Grove community to get to know other children in the community, through crafts, games and recreational activities. Preregistration is required. Please contact Jane Murdoch, Sherry Hetherington.
ATV's
An ATV or All-Terrain Vehicle is a self-propelled vehicle that is designed for off-road use and includes vehicles such as mini-bikes, dirt bikes, all-terrain cycles, quads, and off-road utility terrain vehicles.
In Saskatchewan, a person must be at least 16 years of age and hold a valid driver’s licence to operate an ATV in any public area. NOTE: Youth between the ages of 12 and 15 can operate an ATV in public areas and may cross roads if they have passed an approved ATV training course and are supervised by someone who has held a driver’s licence continuously for the preceding 365 days.
In Saskatchewan ATVs cannot be registered but must be insured with at least a minimum of $200,000 liability before it can be operated in public areas. Lots of people think that since the ATV isn’t require to be registered it is automatically included as part of their contents on their home insurance. This is not the case as most motorized vehicles are excluded under home insurance policies. Please consult your insurance provider for Policy details.

Firework Safety
If you choose to hold a family firework show with “common fireworks” sold to consumers, remember that injuries almost always result from improper handling and a disregard to safety.
Canada Safety Council would like to share some fireworks safety tips from purchasing and setting up, to the fireworks show and proper disposal. Regulation alone cannot protect the public. It must be combined with personal responsibility and awareness.
Purchasing:
· Follow the laws and regulations regarding the use of fireworks.
· Purchase your fireworks from a reliable source that sells products meeting safety standards.
· Stay away from illegal explosives or firecrackers and do not improvise and make your own fireworks.
Setting Up:
· Read the Instructions, this is worth repeating: read the instructions, cautions and warnings on each firework item.
· Store unused fireworks in a closed box away from the firework being lit and do not smoke around the fireworks.
· Set up outdoors in a clear, open space. Light fireworks on a hard, flat and level surface to insure stability.
· Check the wind and have the wind blowing away from the spectators.
· Spectators should be at least the safety distance written on the fireworks label away from the display, keeping special supervision on children.
· Have a bucket of sand, supply of water and a working fire extinguisher on hand.
Fireworks Show:
· Only adults (18 years or over) should handle the fireworks. If you are impaired (alcohol or drugs) do not handle the fireworks.
· Light only one firework item at a time.
· Wear protective eye glasses and gloves. Light at arm’s length and then stand back.
· Never lean over the fireworks and keep hair and clothes away from fire sources.
· Never attempt to re-light a “dud” or defective firework.
· Never hold a lighted firework item in your hand.
Proper Disposal:
· Sparklers should be immersed in a bucket of sand to cool down after burning out, as they remain very hot for some time.
· Fireworks should be disposed of safely and properly.
Canada Safety Council knows that fireworks are popular, impressive and fun. Know the safety rules and respect the firework’s firepower.

Bethune Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Services comes to the Resort Village of North Grove in case of emergencies, please support our Firefighters and stop by on June 23-24 2018 and show them that our community appreciates their work.
Road Work Update: Week of June 25 2018
Monday Oiling will continue on the South Side of the roadway, starting at the Village Shop and continuing towards the Causeway. A special thank you to our road maintenance crew for keeping us updated on the progress and your hard work, it is very much appreciated!!!!
June 19 2018 Road work
Reminder: Oiling will start tomorrow morning at the the Village Shop heading towards "Hunchuk Hill" Please ensure that you are parked away from the roadway and all personal property is moved back at least 2 feet from the road allowance , Reduce your speed and drive with caution when approaching our Village workers.
June 12 2018 Road Work Update
Patching will continue through out the week of June 11 2018. Please reduce your speed to a minimum of 30 km when passing workers.
Road work Update for week of June 17 2018: Oiling of the roadway will begin on Monday June 18 2018. Please ensure that you are parked away from the roadway and all personal property is moved back at least 2 feet from the road allowance , Use caution when approaching workers and reduce you speed.

Please watch for summer road maintenance crew on the Roadway from Field of Dreams to just past the Village Shop. The Village summer road maintenance schedule is officially underway. Regular updates will be posted on the website to keep our ratepayers informed.
